One of the projects Andreas Matuska supported is the "Nelson Mandela School" in Qunu!
The village of Qunu is located in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, directly on the national road N2 and three hours by car from East London. In the past, the village has attracted a lot of attention because it was the hometown of the former South African President and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Nelson Mandela.
Despite the village's fame, many of its inhabitants live in poverty. For many years, the children of the village were educated in extremely difficult conditions in the No-Moscow elementary school.
Most of the school buildings were in a very poor condition. Some areas were in danger of collapsing, forcing students from 7 different grades to share the very limited space in the extremely dilapidated classrooms.
Together with the Child and Family Foundation and his team, Andreas supported the project.
